On 28.01.1997 Seven Samaritans from Pune infused with the aim of building an organisation of Retired Forest Employs planted the seedling of Sevanivrutt Vana Karmachari Sangh (SEVAK), Pune which has now blossomed into Vana Karmachari Sangh, Maharashtra after twenty three years while working in eleven forest circles spread all over Maharashtra State. Though so only far five branches of Pune, Dhule, Nashik, Amravati and Nagpur have firmly achored and are functioning full steam ahead, the areas pertaining to remaining branches are effectively covered by them as far as field works are concerned.
The members of Sevanivrutt Vana Karmachari (Sevak) Sangh, Maharashtra are retired forest employs belonging to different cadres like Forest Guard, Forester, Range Forest Officer, Assistant Conservator of Forests, Deputy Conservators of Forest, Conservators of Forest, Chief Conservator of Forests, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Principal Chief Conservators of Forest of executive wing and others belonging to ministerial wing spread all over state of Maharashtra. They carry with them the varied assortment of vast field experience in Forestry and allied subjects.
